Brandenburg Minister Defends Tesla Workers Amid Musk’s Political Controversies
Brandenburg’s Minister Dietmar Woidke has called for separating Tesla’s operational success from Elon Musk’s polarizing political stances. The appeal comes as Tesla’s European sales falter following Musk’s endorsement of far-right parties, including Germany’s Alternative for Deutschland (AfD), during recent elections.
Grünheide’s Gigafactory, employing 11,000 local workers, remains a cornerstone of Brandenburg’s economy. The facility produces Model Y vehicles for over 30 European markets, yet faces headwinds as consumer sentiment sours. "These workers shouldn’t bear consequences for shareholder politics," Woidke emphasized, highlighting the tension between corporate leadership and workforce welfare.
